Such a cool funky hotel. A turntable in every room and hundreds of albums in the lobby for you to use. The staff is amazing and the restaurant in the hotel is really fun and great smash burgers! Good location right at the free ferry station where you can get anywhere in the city. The Eye film museum is next door and a 360 degree rotating restaurant called Moon on top of the hotel. Situated in a really cool neighborhood with awesome local spots as well. Definitely recommend.

Great beds, great service, super yummy food. Fun and funky elevators, and excellent proximity to central station. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because on our first night at 1am, the fire alarms went off and we evacuated the building, and then nobody came outside to tell us it was a false alarm. Myself and several other guests were waiting outside by the restaurant and finally decided to walk around to the back (front?) where an attendant was sitting at the front desk…so we assumed it was fine to go back in. The next day, the fire alarms went off again (!!) this time at 7:45am. They shut off right away, but not a great wake up call!

I recently stayed at Sir Adam Hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout my stay and the hotel restaurant was really good! One unique aspect that I really enjoyed was to bringing vinyl records back to my room. However, there was a slight disappointment regarding the deposit. The hotel requires you to put a holding deposit for things from the minibar etc but after nearly 3 months we still have not received our 251.76 Euro back! After a consent back and forth with the hotel they are adamant they have sent it but we have received nothing.. it pains me to leave a bad review but it's not a small sum of money and they clearly aren't taking my request to check with their banking provider seriously. This was a letdown considering the otherwise positive experience I had during my stay.

Nice rooms. Very clean. Corridors dark and security doors wedged at times and the doors to corridors are hot and miss at times. Breakfast service hit and miss. Bar very ordinary and Restaurant nowhere near a 4 Star rating. Reception Staff great, ,cleaning very good. However lacks the quality to make it a trye 4 Star due t the below par dining bar options. Funky record players,karoake lifts and the Ferry service close to Amsterdam Central Railway Station still does not mask the dining, bar and breakfast weaknesses. 4 Star Service is delivered in the Room and Bedding quality. However the rating of 4 Star is not accurate, take a good look at the dining, breakfast facilities for Guests. Big focus on the Swings on the Roof limiting Lifts during the day. The lack of consistent quality service at breakfast is a big deficit.No soya milk or choice of milk which os a must to get a 4 Star rating. Not a Hotel for elderly customers as th focus is on a rick mysic theme without delivering he essentials of 4 Star Service. Not noticed any Managers checking quality is maintained. The Bar/Restaurant really caters for non gyests as no communications are given to Hotel Guests about Dining, Menus or any Offers. The stetile approach to Guests will not cultivate return business. I would book a traditional consistent 4 star if returning to Amsterdam. Dining and Bar facilities for Guests would definitely need to be a higher standard. The menu itself is a Burger focussed menu not of any interest to any Guest wanting fine Dining. My Breakfast service was appalling on the second day. Stewed Coffee,no Soya Milk or choice of milks, had to fetch myself rather than any service. Cheese Omelette with onion arrived cold and was unpleasant. The breakfast on the first day was great with good service but the service delivery needs to be consistent to warrant a 4 star rating. Breakfast menu is also pretty limited. The lack of effort to attract Hotel Guests to the Restaurant is divisive. Ferry is required to Amsterdam Central , fine but not great in bad weather. Fighting bikes on an overcrowded Ferry Service is not something that Elderly Guests will find attractive. Tram is then required to get to the Central Amsterdam

I am plus 60. My wife somewhat younger. But the first thing we experienced was a mild to moderate confusion. Where is the parking? Where is even the reception? How do you access the elevator? Why are there microphones in the elevator? You supposed to tell it where to go (yes I have read and loved The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ...)? But then, yes this is the hotel to stay at! Even if you do not have time to sing your favorite kareoke song in the elevator if you stay at floor 5 (which we did), or dare to dance to the blinking disco lights in the other elevator or ... well you get it,.. , this is the place! Is it a hotel for younger generations? Of course it is! But I can promise you that even a seasoned guy like myself loves an experience like this - something positively invigorating different! The whole place is great! The staff very friendly and helpful, every one of them. The breakfast just excellent. And the view - if you pay extra for a room with it (it is woth it!) is fabulous; overlooking the river, the nice Amsterdam Central building on the other side, and ferries and river boats goig back and forth. Also it is very smooth to get to Amsterdam down town; just hop on the nearby ferry (free of charge) leaving every 4 minutes for a 3 minute trip to the Amsterdam Central. Oh, and if you like tulips - the bus to the beautiful and captivating Keukenhof (with I guess has like 99 percent of all tulips in the world...) departs just outside the hotel. The Hotel restaurant - The Butcher - has an extensive menu and food cooked by chefs that obviously love what they do. The rooms wont leave you disapppinted either - guaranteed! The only down side is if you come by car; the parking fee is some 50 EUR per day... I get that it is crowded with cars in Amsterdam, but the hotel really should look into the possibility to make some kind of deal with the owner of the underground carpark. But in all - I would give this fantastic hotel 5 (five) stars, if it werent fot the fact that I am the kimd of guest who saves the last star for the absolutely heavenly hotel (yet to be found on earth). Thanks all staff at Sir ADam for a most memorable stay! When I revisit your great, free and friendly city - I won't even bother to look at other choices - Sir Adam Hotel it is!
